The Chicken Transition Oracle is a 30-card deck intended to help us reclaim the power of our perception. It is also an invitation to remember our uniqueness, our wholeness and interconnectedness, and our capacity to change and choose to heal ourselves and each other. Why chickens? You might be wondering. Chickens were pretty much my only friends growing up. I always found it easiest for me to feel connected to animals and I can’t think of a cooler animal to have formed a bond with than tiny dinosaurs.

This deck is the result of experiencing the terror of feeling lost, only to realize my perception had always been the map. I created it at a time when I never anticipated releasing it to the public. It started out as a month-long Instagram challenge to create a card each day for 30 days.

I was experiencing a major creative block and was desperate to rekindle my creative fire to restore the meaning and stability making art had provided me with in the past. The structure of the challenge allowed me to show up each day with lowered expectations and commit to a daily practice of meeting myself.

This prepared me for when I would later use the cards. With each reading, I quickly realized an increased sense of well-being from showing up for myself each day and gaining insight into what was going on for me under the surface. I had been in talk therapy which was a tremendous help, but there seemed to be something more comforting in being the source of my own healing.

I think there is immense healing available in simply being willing to hold space for ourselves and witness our feelings. For me tarot and oracle cards allowed me to do just that. I wanted to provide others with a tool to help establish their own form of internal stability, so releasing this deck to the public felt right. During the deck’s conception, I was in training to become a family therapist which greatly influenced the meanings I've attributed to the cards. I hope my deck will serve as a helpful guide to you during your own exploration of all that you are.

The Chicken Transition Oracle was originally released in 2020, and due to some lack of planning on my part, I was never really satisfied with the formatting. This reprinting has corrected the prior issues to offer a better-quality deck. I have enlarged the cards to 3.5" x 5" and expanded the artwork to eliminate the borders. They also come in a 2-part lidded box.
