The Chicken Transition Oracle Deck is a self-published 30 card divination deck with an accompanying 64-page guidebook and bag for storage. Each card was hand-drawn by me with most of the imagery involving chickens. The decks were printed in the US.

The guidebook was written by me and I printed and hand-assembled each one. I sewed the bags on my sewing machine from repurposed chicken feed bags leftover after feeding my very own chicken friends. The insides are lined with old fabric I found in the attic of my childhood home. (Don’t worry, I washed it.) I’ve also added stickers to the fronts to make them snazzy and snaps so they stay secure when holding the decks.

Please note: Due to the handmade nature of the guidebooks and bags, please understand that they might have slight imperfections. That said, I’ve put in a lot of effort to each one to ensure I’m not just selling you garbage. Also, please see the final photo to select the bag lining you want as there are different variations.

This deck is the result of experiencing the terror of feeling lost, only to realize my perception had always been the map. I created it at a time when I never anticipated releasing it to the public. It started out as a month-long Instagram challenge to create a card each day for 30 days. I was experiencing a major creative block and was desperate to rekindle my creative fire to restore the meaning and stability making art had provided me with in the past. The structure of the challenge allowed me to show up each day with lowered expectations and commit to a daily practice of meeting myself. This prepared me for when I would later use the cards. With each reading, I quickly realized an increased sense of well-being from showing up for myself each day and gaining insight into what was going on for me under the surface. I had been in talk therapy which was a tremendous help, but there seemed to be something more comforting in being the source of my own healing.

I think there is immense healing in simply being willing to hold space for ourselves and witness our feelings. For me tarot and oracle cards allowed me to do just that. I wanted to provide others with a tool to help establish their own form of internal stability, so releasing this deck to the public felt right. During the deck’s conception, I was in training to become a family therapist which greatly influenced the meanings I've attributed to the cards. I hope my deck will serve as a helpful guide to you during your own exploration of all that you are.
